Paris Jazz Festival is a signature open-air summer festival in Paris. The festival is held against the verdant backdrop of Park Floral, a large public oasis, located within the Bois de Vincennes. Paris Jazz Festival runs on Saturdays and Sundays in July and August. The festival features free concerts, workshops, attractions, and exhibitions.
Paris Jazz Festival was initiated in 1994 by two jazz fans, Franck Marchal and Olivier Bastardie. Every year it attracts over 120,000 attendees. The event spans a diverse lineup of top international jazz players and singers to perform on the beautiful Espace Delta Amphitheater stage. Past lineups included Didier Lockwood, Colin Vallon, Paolo Fresu, Franck Tortiller, Didier Lockwood, Thierry Eliez, André Ceccarelli, David Enhco, Kamilya Jubran & Sarah Murcia,, Trilok Gurtu, Brad Mehldau, Lionel and Stéphane Belmondo, Richard Bona, Yom, Stéphane Galland, Guillaume Perret, Céline Bonacina, Elina Duni, Malted Milk, and others.
Paris Jazz Festival is focused on promoting the French jazz scene. The festival hosts the Victoires du Jazz Award and showcases new techniques, like the Wave Field Synthesis system, a virtual acoustic experience, which was presented during the festival in 2013.
